Sexual Health Education Program (SHEP)

Dear Families:

State law requires that all high school students receive sexual health education at least once either in Biology or in 10th grade. At Hoover HS, your child will receive instruction in their Biology course which occurs for most 9th grade students.

Please note that parents/guardians may excuse their child from the sexual health instruction for this school year by providing an electronic, printed, or hand-written note in their preferred language to their child's teacher. The note should simply state that they are excusing their child from the instruction, include their child's name, and be generated or signed by the parent or guardian. There is no need for any reason to be stated in this note.

To provide you with an accessible opportunity to preview instructional materials, you may view the pre-recorded online curriculum presentation (also viewable here). You may also preview instructional materials on the SHEP Curriculum webpage

Please contact your child’s Biology teacher directly or the admin team if you have any questions
