Dear Hoover High School Families:

I hope this letter finds you healthy and having a wonderful summer. With the return to school approaching, we wanted to provide an update about the principal search for Hoover High School and a shift in the original timeline communicated.

A Community Panel Interview was held on August 11th and did not yield a decision. The position will remain posted until a group of well-qualified candidates can be brought in front of the Community Panel for a new round of interviews. As we search for the next leader of our Hoover learning community, we must maintain principal leadership during this time. In our district, we utilize the service of retired administrators as we seek coherence and consistency.

We are pleased to welcome experienced Administrator, Principal Walter Fairley who started effective August 15th and will remain at Hoover until a Principal is selected. Principal Anne Menna will also serve Hoover as Associate Principal while Hoover’s own Associate Principal Diane Conti is on Family Bonding Leave with her new child. Interim Principals Mr. Fairley and Ms. Menna are retired administrators who have served the district for many years in different capacities including the role as principal.  They have experience leading, planning, and directing curricular and instructional programs for all students and have a passion for teaching and student learning. They will develop a collaborative schedule to ensure the school responsibilities are supported consistently. Mr. Fairley and Ms. Menna both look forward to meeting each of you and continuing the work at Hoover High School. Hoover’s own Associate Principals Corina Barcenas Schultz and Charles De Freitas will also remain in their current positions. We are confident this team will get Hoover off to a fantastic start of the school year.

We remain committed to selecting the very best candidate to serve as the next leader of Hoover High School. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the process. Thank you and be well.

All the best,
Erin Richison, Ed.D.
Area Superintendent, High School
